So, this Sat we went to my friend Heather's house where Brody FOUND HIMSELF. She has a whole wall that is a mirror and he just loved to talk and play with himself. The cutest part is that he totally thinks he found a friend. He was just talking and blah blah and I think that was the highlight of his day b/c other than that he whined all day long.
He still has a cold or is teething I guess we just don't know until Thursday at his check up appt. He is def eating everything in sight and if you have it he wants it. One of his fav things is the bottom of a really cold soda can or a chunk of ice and he is in love. I have been giving him more and more "big boy" food and his body is not liking it all that much. It is a slow process but soon we will be there.
He still isn't crawling but he is up on his knees rocking back and forth. He is well off his pallet that his Grand made. He has toys scattered all over the living room and he will roll, climb and do almost anything to get to them. If you go in the kitchen you are not sure where or what toy he will be playing with when you peek in to look at him from over the bar. His current fav toy is the car... it has a gear shift and a steering wheel and he "drives" everywhere. If he gets bored of it and doesn't touch it it says GOODBYE and he starts right back on it.
He is getting louder with his little tantrums. He sleeps through the night but still cries when he is put down. I put him down last night and he was so frantic that I had to pick him up and it took him 10mins to calm him down. I had to sing to him, which normally makes him cry and making up words is NOT easy. He finally settled down and then slept until 6:30am so that is 11hrs.
I will write more on Thurs to update you on height, weight, and all the goods in between. Love you all!!!

growing boy

So, Brody is def on the move. He normally lies in his little boppy and watches PBS Word Girl everymorning but now he insists on sitting up. Today when I got out of the shower that little buggar was on all fours facing me. I was "what are you doing MR.!" and he just smiled. He sits up all the time and I give it one more week before he is fully crawling. He scoots anywhere and everywhere.

Not sure if I wrote this last week or not but we were lying in bed and he insists on holding his own bottle. I was trying to help and he pushed my hand off and continued drinking it. He dropped the bottle when he was done and rolled over NOT facing me and went to sleep. I was amazed but so sad at the same time. My baby didn't need mommy anymore... so I put my arm around him anyway and snuggled with him. I WON :) or so I think lol!!!! He is so independent.

He has not been feeling well the last few days. He has had diarrhea. Not sure if it is b/c of a new fruit we introduced, side effect of teething, or just simply not feeling well. I was trying to sooth him back to bed last night b/c he woke up screaming. When he holds his bottle he likes to hold your hand at the same time. We always do hand to hand...palms touching. I think he likes it b/c he can see the lights between my fingers but last night he put his little fat starfish (that is what i call his hands starfish) and he intertwined them with mine and we were holding hands. My heart exploded and my head was prob glowing with excitement. I was happy and sad my baby was becoming a boy.

I am getting back to daily life... and will try to write more.

We had a great Labor day weekend. We wore our Gator gear on Sat to support our team and we won!!! yeah!!! Brody wore 18mth outfits all weekend. Whoa!! Again he was great in church. They love him there. He is sitting up more than ever now... we are about 90% on his own. I really think he will be crawling by Halloween. He is just rolling and rolling and rather quickly. We are gonna go get his pics done next sat for 6mths... can you believe it? I think we are also gonna put him in his costume and get those done as well. They will be great pics to show his kids someday.
He is holding his beginner sippy cup all by himself and I love the freedom. He is soooo grown up... my wittle baby. It gets better and better. He does this fake cough all the time and especially when no one is paying attention to him. We joke that he needs to go to the ER for his cough cough... it is soo cute.
We have gone through all the stage one foods and when we run out of those we will start stage two's b/c he is ready.
OHHHHH and the best part.... Little man sleeps allllll night long in his crib. He wakes up and whines but then goes right back to sleep. I still get up and check on him b/c well that's what moms do.
We go for his six mth check up on the 24th. It should be interesting to see how much he weighs and how long he is. I will keep you posted.

Megatron

I want to apologize for taking so long to write. We have been so busy. Between work, school, an mommy time I have been up to my ears.

We took Brody to church for the first time. I was very nervous. I dropped him off at the daycare and he didn't cry or even make a sound. They give you a pager that you hold in case of an emergency. I held on to that pager with both hands the whole time. It never went off.... so on my way back I was nervous to see if he cried the whole time. When I arrived she was sitting up in the middle of the floor with this lady playing. She gave me a big smile and said HE WAS GREAT!!! (that's my boy). I asked if she had to hold him the entire time and she said NOT AT ALL... we just adored him and hope he comes back. We def will. I am looking forward to this Sunday and starting the day off great.

I mentioned sitting up... we are 85% of the way there!! He hates lying down and wants to be sitting up all the time. Even in the bathtub he wants to sit up and play with the water coming out of the facet. I can't wait b/c I am over his blue bath tub and frankly he is to big for it.

Mama B bought our boy his first sippy cup. He doesn't quite understand just yet. He tries to chew on it and loves to get water out of it. Brody ends up soaking wet but the new experience creates many laughs. I gave my mom the okay today to give him some apple juice and to try again with the sippy cup. He should really master it by 6mths... but that is right around the corner.

We have also moved Brody on to green beans. I think they are so gross in baby food form. I love them adult style. I have had to trick him a few times with mixing them with sweet potato's... so we will keep pushing through with those. All this food has really help him sleep through the night. Meaning 3:30-4 am but still.

Brody is sooo funny. Mom leans him down to say bye to mama every morning. He just laughs and touches my face. Well yest morning he was hysterical. He would grab my nose and make a laugh/honking sound. We did it over and over cracking up. He chuckles sooo loud now and from the belly. We would have him touch mamadita's nose and he wouldn't make a sound and then back to mine HOOONKKKK!!!!! We tired after work and the moment had gone. PapaJeff played with him and said Brody and he laughed for about 45mins straight. I am glad to see them bond.

Okay- time for school.
