Hey Y'all,

It is Friday and has been a long week with me starting school and everything else that goes on with our little family. Brody has been such a good boy and really just starting to show his feisty side, his snuggly side, and his funny side. He has really been grabbing things lately. He LOVES the remote... he wants to put it in his mouth on it at any chance he can get. I have an old remote I think I am gonna sterilize and give to him. I have a feeling he is gonna be wayyyy to smart for that little trick. He really really goes after my camera. It is silver so I think that attracts him. He is quite allowed to play with cameras yet.

We took him to eat at Bubbalou's last night and he sat in his highchair for the first time. He did really well for all about 15mins. He was given a gift that you put in the shopping cart that has toys on it to take their minds off shopping or whatever you are doing. It has milk, apples, and a mirror. They make noises and rattle. Since is not sitting up all the way, he can't really appreciate all there is to do. So, as usual we took turns walking him around the restaurant so we all could eat. He was still such a great baby. Afterward we went to Publix were everyone ahh and ooh'd over him talking and his BIG BEAUTIFUL EYES. The great part is that he is ALL MINE to love!!!

His drooling is multiplying. He has to have teeth come in soon. If you put your face to his and he opens his mouth like he is gonna eat you.

He is falling asleep within mins now when I lie him down. I put a crib toy in his crib and man oh man does he talk to himself. He does it to keep himself from falling asleep. He looks in the toys mirror and blah blah blah.

I hope you all have a great weekend and hopefully he does more amazing things to tell you about and take pics of.

brody

We had a great time at the beach!!! Apparently the ocean breeze makes Brodybell sleep like a baby. LOL!! He loved spending time with his nephews and being around his family. He was in great spirits all weekend laughing and just being a good boy!!! My nephew Reese (4yr old) has volunteered to teach him to surf. Reese was so impressed that the baby new how to "talk" LOL!! It makes Reese seem so grown up to me. Brody didn't like the ocean as much as a pool so we are gonna have to work on that rather slowly.

Brody has just really blossomed over the last week. He is soooo much more aware of his surroundings. He finally noticed that my mom has a dog and just cracks up laughing whenever he see's him. He just cracks up at so much now and it makes me laugh!!! He is making kissing type sounds with his mouth now... it is so cute!!

We are still working on the crying it out. Some days it takes 4mins and some days 30mins. It is getting easier for me and I hope him. He gets so upset that he has that little hiccup cry for like 30mins even after his is in a deep sleep. Poor guy!!!!

He turned the big 5months yest. It is really going by so fast. I love him more and more everyday. I never really understood what being a mom meant or just how lucky a person was to become a mom until I got blessed with my son. They way he looks at me and smiles makes me melt and then he just talks and talks and talks. I can't believe that someday I will actually understand what he says. I know for now when I am in the room....I am all he wants. And since that can be trying at times ...I enjoy it more and more everyday. I pray that life offers him everything in the world. It is all within his reach I just know it. He is sooo smart and I see it in his eyes everything day. I must have really done something right in life to deserve him. I am thankful to the moon and back.

Brody

Day TWO of letting him cry it out was a wash....

I couldn't keep his eyes open, on the drive home I was singing (which he hates my singing) and saying Brody...BRODY.... his eyes were so sleepy. My friend came over and we fed him dinner, gave him a bath, and then played even when he didn't want to play. Anything to keep him awake. We went in the room and BOOM out. There was no way to keep him awake. I wanted him to finish his whole bottle... he just couldn't. So, I put him down a sleep which I know is against the rules. The good news is that he slept until 10:50pm the bad news is that I was so tired, I just grabbed him and we went to bed. He woke up at 5am and would NOT go back to sleep. Finally at 6:30am he went back to sleep. Figures b/c that is when I am waking up.

Tonight is another night... so I will let you know how it goes.

He continues to get better and better at scooting/crawling to get the object he wants. If you lie him down... there is a 100% guarantee he will NOT be facing the same direction when you return. He is gonna be a mover and a shaker for sure!!!

Brody

Good MORNING Y'all!!!

So, last night was Brody's first night to cry it out. I am trying to get him to learn to soothe himself before school starts again for me. I tried to rock him for over an hour when well.... I just decided it was time. After 10mins of whining and doing acrobats in his bed he fell asleep safe and sound. My plan is to feed him cereal, give him a bath, and then a final bottle before we go down at night with plenty of hugs and kisses.

I am nervous about giving him cereal at night just b/c I have no idea how much bigger my wittle baby can possible get. Mom and I went to Target yest to buy cousin Ethan some b-day gifts and Brody a new pair of shoes. Well, at five months you would think he would still be in the baby section... NOPE... We had to go to the big boy section b/c he is a size three. OMG!! Four is actually easier to put on b/c he has feet like his aunt Jill (she didn't wear shoes until she was 2-3 b/c her feet were so fat), but fours are way to long. He is only wearing 12mth old clothes. My saving grace is that I have tons of friends that had the same thing with their children and eventually it evens out. He is off the charts in size and weight. I love him to pieces and nibble on his thighs all the time.

Mrs. Blinco bought him some new books and I read them to him but all he was interested in was how the book tasted and not how Elmo liked the Sesame Street Firehouse LOL!!

Mamadita said he ate all of his squash yesterday THE WHOLE jar.... I was so proud.

Last but not least we turned his car seat forward. He is a big boy now and can see mama drive. He loves it and not a whimper since he can now see the world. As long as he has toys with him to try to eat he is a happy camper.

Back to work and until tomorrow.

Brodybell

I decided today to create a blog about Brody. This way friends and family can read from time to time to get updates and to see my baby's progress. He is growing so fast and there are many people that don't get to see him as often as they would like. So, I am going to try to keep up as much as possible and let you know things good and bad that he does LOL. I will add pictures and sometimes video. I hope you all enjoy.

I will start right away.... Brody has started two new things as of last night. He starting making this noise where he makes himself cough. It is so funny to watch b/c you can see his brain at work. EVERY SINGLE time he coughs but he continues to do it. It cracks me up, as most things he does do. He also has been putting his lips together to make that bbbbbbbb sound.... like you would do if you were under water....sounds cute but now he does it with his food, milk or anything you put in his mouth.

He slept alone in his crib until 2am... which is huge. He woke up crying, b/c he had a bellyache. Poor little guy. We are gonna try to give him a little more water. He has been eating so much iron with his formula and rice that I think his belly can't keep up.
Alright back to work. I will write again as soon as I can.
